

Donald Neil Huffman of Mansfield died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at home. Neil, as he was known, was born March 22, 1947 in Clearwater, Florida to the late Donald Edward and Viva MacPherson Huffman. Neil moved to Mansfield at age 3 and resided here the rest of his life.
Neil had an early interest in electronics that his father nurtured. His dad bought him an early Radio Shack color TV kit to build which kept his interest until he completed it. He always worked electronics of one type or another and was fascinated by figuring something out.
He graduated from Madison High School in 1965 and worked for several companies in the Mansfield area and retired from the Garber Company in Ashland, Ohio.
He is survived by his son, Donald (Jennifer) Huffman; his daughter, Donna (Charles) Wininger; seven grandchildren, Allison, Logan, Collin, Trayvon, Brennon, Landon, and Kaitlin; sister, Sandra Ball Macpherson; husband, L.D. Ball; nephew, Ramon Ball; nieces, Lara Welty and Sara (Cameron) Staples; cousins in California and Canada; and special friends, Lanny, Dick, Pam and Debbie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Erma Huffman; and a nephew, Tom Ball.
According to his wishes, his body has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Wappner Cremation Center, 1327 Ashland Road. The Wappner Cremation Center is honored to serve the family of Donald Huffman.
