
Donald E. McGraw, 75, of Mansfield, Ohio died Thursday morning, November 2, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield following a brief illness. Mr. McGraw was born February 10, 1925 in Portsmouth, Ohio living in the Mansfield area since 1946. He passed away with his family at his side. He was retired from Empire Detroit Steel and was a member of Shelby Open Bible Church, Amvets Post 26, and American Legion Post 16. He enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and traveling. Mr. McGraw was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army, Staff Sergeant Troop B, 112th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze SV Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 2 Bronze SV Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, and the WWII Victory Medal.
He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Ratliff McGraw of Mansfield; seven children and their spouses, Patricia K. & James Adkins of Mansfield, Gary & Nancy McGraw of Mansfield, Jamie & Sally McGraw of Shiloh, Perry S. McGraw of Mansfield, Dana & James Dunn of Shelby, William & Judy Ingels of Lancaster, Kentucky, and Charles & Tonya Ratliff of Shelby; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and six sisters, Ruth Totman, Helen Perry, Charlotte Konves, and Sue Morgan, all of Mansfield, Jean Fry of Columbus, and Martha Thompson of Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oscar & Stella Grace McDaniels McGraw; two brothers, Robert and James McGraw; and his first wife, Madge J. Perry McGraw.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 6, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. Glenn Phillips. Military services will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
