Donald Alfred Peter Watkins, 69, of Mansfield, died late Thursday evening, November 10, 2005, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born November 10, 1936, in Sandusky, he was a Mansfield area resident the past 30 years. Mr. Watkins was employed at Shiloh Tool and Die as a press operator. He attended St. Peter's Catholic Church and served four years in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Peg Rhoades Watkins, whom he married November 26, 1960; three sons, Kevin Michael Watkins, Kenneth Eugene Watkins, Timothy Alan Watkins; daughter, Robin Lynn Watkins; three grandchildren, Chelsie Elaine Lantz, Kellie Watkins, and Kyle Watkins; and two nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wesley Watkins and sister-in-law, Dorothy Watkins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Military graveside services conducted by Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
