Donna Wert

Donna J. Keough Wert, 73, of Mansfield died Friday morning, May 19, 2006. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with her family by her side after an extremely courageous battle with cancer. Born January 12, 1933, in Mansfield, she was the daughter of Floyd M. Friend and Mildred Thoma Fix. She was a 1951 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donna also enjoyed reading and collecting angels and doves. She retired from Mike Volk Co.

She is survived by two daughters, Marla Wert and Stacey Baumberger, both of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Chad Shanna Watt of Columbus, Michelle Allen Wilburn of Mansfield, Nicole Leroy Orren-Frazier of Fredericktown, and Brittaney Mike Gurgacz Orren of Mansfield; four great-grandchildren, Alisha, Mackenzie and Kevin Wilburn, and Landen Gurgacz, all of Mansfield; a brother, Gerald Friend of Mansfield; a sister, Shirley Cecil Fleming of Ashland; three special friends, Joell Wright of Hayesville, Peg Tinkham and Sue Miller, both of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Tony Fix; daughter, Carla Sue Wert; and close friend and sister-in-law, Nancy Antrican.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Monday, May 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Gary Streiff of Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Windsor Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
