
Dorothy L. Hutchison, 58, died Friday, December 15, 2006, at The Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus after a brief battle with cancer. Born April 23, 1948, in Maysville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Wilmore Thomas and Betty Blankenship Thomas and was a graduate of Madison High School. She was a very caring person who worked many years in office environments. Her love of children then drew her to become a full time childcare provider, a job that gave her happiness and enabled her to make positive differences in so many young lives. She attended both the Church of Christ in Christian Union on Hanna Road and the Vermillion Baptist Church of Perrysville.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Paul Hutchison; a son, Jim Hutchison and his wife, Mary of Groveport; a daughter, Lori Hutchison of Dublin; two grandchildren, Amber and Quinten Hutchison; her mother, Betty Thomas; and sisters, Norella Moore and Reva Berger, all of Ashland.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 19 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor James Luedeman. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of the James Cancer Hospital and the Intensive Care Unit at OSU Medical Center for their care and compassion during this time.
