
Dorothy L. Ramsey, 88, of Mansfield, died Friday, July 22, 2005, at Lexington Court Care Center after a brief illness. Born December 21, 1916, she was the daughter of Milton and Helen Walz Mumaw. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church where she taught the kindergarten class, was active in the youth groups and the Plus Ultra class. Dorothy was a substitute cafeteria worker with Madison Schools. Her primary occupation was as homemaker for her husband and sons.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James P. and JoAnne Fowler Ramsey of Bethesda, Maryland and Douglas E. and Donna Harris Ramsey of Mansfield; two grandsons, Christopher P. and his wife, Kristen Brugger Ramsey of London, Ohio, and Ryan E. Ramsey of Columbus; a great-granddaughter, Emma Aliese Ramsey of London; two sisters, Marian Mumaw Goodale of Leesburg, Virginia, and Sara Jane Mumaw and her husband, Roy Starner, Jr. of Ashland; a brother, Philip Walz Mumaw and his wife, Sandra Biddinger of Alvada, Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Chester, and son, Keith.
Memorial services will be held Friday, July 29, 2005, at 6:00 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, officiated by Rev. Allen E. Rose and Dalton Derr. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio or Main Street United Methodist Church.
