

Douglas Emery Thompson, 52, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly from a massive stroke on Saturday afternoon, August 22, 2015, at OhioHealth MedCentral Hospital. He was born July 1, 1963, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Raymond and Clarice (Damron) Thompson.
Doug was employed as a landscape foreman with CRT Landscape. He attended Elm Street Free Will Baptist Church in Shelby. Doug loved music and was both a musician and songwriter. He was a member of several bands throughout the years, most recently with BENT. He loved motorcycles and the freedom of being on the open road. Doug was intrigued and fascinated with wolves and collected as many items as he could find. In his free time, he enjoyed the peace and calm that came through fishing.
He is survived by a daughter, Brandie Davis of Mansfield; two sons, Norman Thompson and Douglas Thompson, both of Mansfield; his mother, Clarice Thompson of Mansfield; a sister, Patricia C. (Ron) Conn of Mount Gilead, OH; a brother, Raymond D. Thompson of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Aaliyah, Taylor, Braylie, Addison, Noah, Justice and soon to be arriving, Levi; numerous step children and step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and treasured friend, Reid. His father, Raymond Thompson, preceded him in death.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015, in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Castle officiating. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home
