
Earl "Jim" James Spangler, 82, of Mansfield, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Jim was born on December 26, 1937 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was the son of Leota (Wirick) and Bill Tuttle.
Jim married the love of his life, Carol, on April 17, 1959, and they were blessed with nearly 61 years of marriage. Jim was a veteran in the United States Army serving with the 25th Infantry Division. He was employed at Ohio Brass until they closed their doors, after which he was employed at Boscho Rexroth in Wooster until he retired. Jim was a very private, quiet and humble man who found his family near and dear to his heart. He loved spending time outdoors doing some of his favorite activities; hunting, fishing, camping and riding his motorcycles.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Carol (Casdorph) Spangler; his daughters, Kristi Spangler and Kelli (Joe) Roy; his grandchildren, Amanda (Alex) Kulka, Megan Olson, and Michael Slatinsky; a great-grandson, Jack Kulka; and his nephews, Dan (Sue) Kilgore, Greg Kilgore, and Todd Kilgore. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Spangler; and a brother, Terry (Darlene) Kilgore.
Private family services will be held at a later date. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Spangler family.
