
Earle C. 'Shad' Massa, 82, of Mansfield died Thursday morning, December 25, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield. Mr. Massa was born June 30, 1921 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area most of his life. He was a retired General Adjuster with The National Flood Insurance Program in Rockville, Maryland. After his retirement he founded and was the active president of The Earle C. Massa Company. He attended Crossroads Community Church and was a member of American Legion Post #16. He was formerly a member of the Sons of Herman, Lions Club and AmVets. Mr. Massa was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. Massa of Mansfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen & Annette Massa of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzie & Denny Snyder of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Zachary Massa and his wife, Kristie, Aaliyah Snyder and Noah Snyder, all of Mansfield; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn & Gene Carlisle and Shirley & Tom Garrison, all of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Doris Massa of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl E. & Helen Husted Massa; a brother, Richard Massa; and life long special friend, Jack Lyons.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-5 p.m. and one hour prior to funeral services to be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rich Workman of Crossroads Community Church.. Military services will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Waldenstrom's Macroglobuliremia Fund or the Crossroads Building Fund.
