

A good man, Earl Stamper, 88, of Mansfield, died Tuesday morning, April 1, 2014 at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He was born December 29, 1925 in Braeholm, West Virginia to the late Orphie (Cline) and Dewey Stamper.
He was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Army. He worked at Westinghouse for 22 years and Newman Technologies for 4 years. Earl drove semi truck with his wife, Frances for 4 years, traveling through every state except Delaware and North Dakota. Earl was a very private, hard-working man.
He is survived by his wife, Frances I. Logan Stamper; two daughters, Dian (David) Owens of Columbus and Helen (Tim) Woods of Grayson, KY; two granddaughters, Dana (Kenneth) Waldron of Columbus and Lanie (Walter) Smith of Ashland; three great-grandchildren, Brittney (John) Osterland, Kayla Osterland and Justin Bichell; five great-great grandchildren, Owen, Oliver, Davion, Ki and Markia; a brother-in-law, Viley (Thea) Perry; a sister-in-law, Doris Henderson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Elmer Stamper; and sister, Ruth Murphy.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
