

Edith was a homemaker and proud member of The House of Prayer. She loved her family and was a devoted wife to her husband, Rev. Ernest F. McCormick I, for 58 years and devoted wife to John Stoner for 5 years. She was a Christian woman who loved and served the Lord faithfully. She loved to sing and play her guitar for the Lord and had composed several Christian songs. She will be sadly missed by her friends and family.
Edith is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Edward) Jaques of Brunswick, GA; son, Rev. Ernest F. (Cherie) McCormick II of Ashland, OH; grandsons, Eddie Jaques, Jr. of Brunswick, GA, John (Kim) Jaques of Ringgold, GA and Ernest F. McCormick III of Ashland, OH; five great-grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica), Kristie, Ashley, Tiffany and John Michael; and two great-great grandchildren, Jordynn and Kylee.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; a daughter, Vickie Lynn; three brothers, Johnny Garretson, Gordon Garretson and Denver Garretson; and three sisters, Gladys Johnson, Mildred Metz and Virginia Cooper.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held Friday, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Her son, Rev. Ernest F. McCormick II will conduct the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
