
Edna Lou Wilson, 68, of 4092 Snodgrass Road died Monday, December 23, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield after a brief illness. Edna was born August 2, 1934 in Virgie, Kentucky. She moved to Mansfield in 1956 where she met and later married her loving husband, Homer Wilson, July 8, 1958. Homer and Edna established their home in the Mansfield area. Edna was a loving wife, precious mother and wonderful homemaker for more than 40 years. She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her many family members. She also enjoyed relaxing about her flowers and talking with her special friends, Lenore Ramey and Cheri Walker. She attended Living Waters Community Church. Edna will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her. There was never a sacrifice too large that she would not make for her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Homer Wilson; a daughter, Cozetta Payton of Ontario; two sons, Nathan and Gary Wilson, both of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Amanda Payton and Zachary, Salepfee, Travis, Maria, Owen and Abrahm Wilson; three sisters, Billie Nixon of Constantine, Michigan and Dorothy Molnar and Fretta Stuart, both of Elkhart, Indiana; a brother, Morris Spears of Constantine, Michigan; and more than 25 nieces and nephews including a special niece, Debra Mount, of Constantine, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her father, Pearl Eugene Matheny and her mother, Dixie Lane Spears; two brothers, Gary Reed and Harold Dean Spears; and a sister, Genevieve Swetcoff.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Ron Miller of Living Waters Community Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
