

Edward L. Hergatt Jr., 66, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Born on June 10, 1959, in Mansfield to Edward Hergatt Sr. and Laura (Donnelly) Hergatt, Edward lived a full and hardworking life marked by service, passion, and quiet integrity.
A graduate of Madison High School, Edward went on to serve in the United States Navy, where he trained as a nuclear engineer and served aboard submarines — a demanding role that suited his sharp mind and strong work ethic.
Edward had a deep love for motorcycles and drag racing, and he carried that same energy and precision into everything he did. A skilled tradesman and entrepreneur, he owned his own contracting business and later found success as an online auctioneer, building a reputation for honesty and dedication.
Those who knew Edward knew him as a truly good man — steady, loyal, and genuine. He is survived by his children, William G. King, Lisa Bradshaw, and Joseph King; grandchildren, Danielle Olson, Cody Bradshaw, Logan Bradshaw, Jordan King, Shelby Olson, Jessa King, Joey King, PJ Olson, Rylee Bradshaw, and Parker King; and cousins, Patty Gornek and Bobbi Hall. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Hergatt Sr. and Laura Hergatt; and his brother, Phillip.
