She was a member of Mansfield Baptist Temple. She graduated with an associate’s degree in 1946 in the first dental hygienist class from The Ohio State University, her bachelor’s degree from Pembroke State University in 1973 in Biology, and her master’s degree from North Carolina State in Adult Education.
Eileen enjoyed sewing, cooking and was a quilter, and became well known for her needlework projects, everyone in the family has one. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bowling, playing bridge and euchre. She was a Girl Scout leader for 10 years when her daughters were young.
Eileen is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Paul) Playford, Glendale, AZ and Jan (Robert) Vandine, Ashville, NC; sons, Miles (Tracy) Hoehn, Mansfield, OH and Donald Hoehn, Mansfield, OH; 6 grandchildren, 1 step grandchild, and 13 great-grandchildren; stepdaughters, Patricia Madden, Chattanooga, TN and Diane (Gary) Hedrick of Thomasville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Kenneth Hoehn and Denis Fallon; sister, Lois Whitaker; brothers, Herbert Guider, Harold Guider, and Walter Guider, Jr.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Primrose Retirement Community and Compassus Hospice, and to their staff for the wonderful care they provided.
