

Elizabeth "Mae" Arnold, 88, of Mansfield Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 13, 2016. She was born in Forrest, Illinois on May 15, 1927 to Jacob and Martha Elizabeth (Bachtold) Bender.
Mae enjoyed camping, and visiting her family and friends. At an early age she was selling strained and comb honey for her fathers apiaries. She also helped her parents with gardening, canning, baking bread and sweets, and decorating cakes for the family. She started sewing at an early age and made most of her clothes for school.
She retired from the Ohio State Reformatory as the Record Office Manager. Previously she worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator, Ohio Bell Telephone Compnay as a PBS operator at different locations, and also worked at JCPenny as a selling floor merchandiser.
She volunteered 12 years as a Cub Scout Den Mother and was a Red Court volunteer for 25 years. She also volunteered at The Waterford's "Wrenn" store and helped initiate it. Mae was a faithful Member of McElroy Road Church of Christ, where she was a Bible school teacher for children and ladies. She helped prepare for VBS programs a number of years as well, and also served 30 years as the Missions Funds treasurer.
She will be missed by her children, Charles (Donna) Scholler of Boise, Idaho, David (Jeri) Scholler of Ashland, Ohio, Robert (Carol) Izer of Orange, Texas, Emmett (Ruth) Izer of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pam (Boyd) Alig of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Kathleen Arnold of Mansfield, Valerie (Dwayne) Osbourne of Mansfield, Tim Arnold of Danville, and Diana Hostetler of Mansfield; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Florence Rinkenberger. and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charles Luttrell, Andy Scholler, Emmett Izer, and Charles Arnold; her sisters, Alice Teubel and Eunice Bender; brothers, twins, Clifford and Clarence Bender, Marvin Bender, Raymond (Dorothy) Bender, Wesley Bender, Ralph Bender, and Lloyd Bender.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road Ontario, Ohio. A funeral service conducted by Pastor Dean Jackson will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 1:30 pm, also at the Ontario Home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the McElroy Road Church of Christ.
