
E. Leon Danals, 91, of Ontario died at home Saturday evening, April 5, 2003 following a brief illness. Mr. Danals was born January 3, 1912 in Ontario, Ohio to L.J. & Martha Harding Danals. He retired from the Erie-Lackawana Railroad after 46 years of service. He was a former member of the Ontario United Methodist Church where he was custodian for 15 years and served on the church board and as an usher. He was currently attending First Church of God.
Mr. Danals is survived by his wife, Bonnie L. Duncan Danals of Ontario; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald 'Pat' & Nancy Danals of Dublin, Ohio; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan & Ralph Beer of Ontario and Helen & David Nicholson of Mansfield; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a great great-grandchild; two step great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 50 years, Gertrude A. Gaul Danals; a son, Donald L. Danals; and six brothers and seven sisters.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the First Church of God conducted by Pastor Larry Collins. Burial will follow at Ontario Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God Building Fund.
