Elva Yvonne "Bonnie" Kenison Croxall, 67, of Mansfield, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at OSU Medical Center after a long illness. In Bonnie's own words….Born February 24, 1941, I was the daughter of George and Sally McGinnis Kenison. I attended school in Ontario until leaving high school in the 11th grade to help my sister. I moved to California in 1964 and in 1968, met and fell in love with Ed Croxall in North Hollywood, California. We married seven years later in Canton, Ohio and were married 33 years, being together for a total of 40 years. Together we raised my three sons, Jeff, Brian, and Dan. From the day we met, the boys were Ed's sons too. My boys are my pride and joy. A friend and I started RTE Bingo. After working there for a time, for reasons I kept to myself, I decided to retire. Later I was asked to help at Firefighters Bingo. When my health declined, I had to give up that job too. I loved spending time with my grandchildren and shopping with them. Each grandchild had a special place in my heart. They gave me so much joy.
I am survived by my husband, Edward Croxall; sons, Dan Laura Gregory of Mansfield, Jeff Sarah Gregory of Columbus, and Brian Dawn Gregory of Bellville; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Danelle, Brittany, Ryan, Lindsey, Alexa, Megan, Kurtis, and Joey; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Chase, and baby; two brothers, Jim Ruth Kenison of Butler, and Jerry Kenison of Mansfield; three sisters, Jo Ann Oviedo, Georgia Heichel, both of Mansfield, and Betty Bob Kenard of Port St. Lucie, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and too many friends to count, but I loved them all. I am preceded in death by my parents; and two sisters, Willamae Erbland, and Helen Fostor.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with additional visiting hours from 12 to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
