Emily J. Rachel, 91, of Galion, died Wednesday morning, June 29, 2005 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 30, 1913 in Russell County, Virginia, she was the daughter of Walter S. and Rhoda King Johnson. She was a homemaker and loved camping.
She is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, Walter Henry Rachel of Union City, Michigan, William H. Rachel, Sr. of Galion, and Ben Sr. and Barbara Rachel of Mansfield; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Laborn J. Rachel; parents; three sons, Charlie Rachel, Robert Rachel, and Kelly Rachel, Jr.; three daughters-in-law, Wanda Rachel, Jeanne LaCosse Rachel, and Carolyn R. Rachel; two sisters, Laurie Kimberlin, and Rosie Kimberlin; and one brother, Kelly Johnson.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005 with funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. conducted by Pastor John Van Horn. Burial at a later date will be in Lantz Cemetery.
