
Emogene B. Conn Stamper, 68, of Mansfield left her family to be with the Lord on June 8, 2011. Emogene came to the end of her long and courageous battle with illnesses as she would have liked, with family by her side. She was born September 29, 1942 in South Webster, Ohio, the daughter of Emery and Dorothea Cole Conn. Emogene enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Buster.
She is survived by her husband, Lafe Stamper of Mansfield; children, Sherry Mount Bowe of Bettendorf, Iowa, Jim Binion of North Carolina, and Jerry Binion of Mansfield; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Emery Conn, Jr. and Ronnie Jacobs, both of Mansfield; and two sisters, Lois Curry and Michele Conn, both of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Maxine Hayes and Geraldine Conn; and niece, Teresa Kegley.
Friends may visit from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Clifford Earl Tackett officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richland County Animal Shelter.
