Ethel Mae Stokes, 43, of Mansfield died early Thursday morning, February 28, 2002 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born January 15, 1959 in Mansfield to John Thomas Stokes and Mildred Washington. She was raised and loved by the late Annie Ruth Stokes and was a 1978 graduate of Mansfield Senior High.
Survivors include her daughter, Shateri Stokes of Mansfield; two sons, John and Terry Stokes, both of Mansfield; grandchild, Brionna Lasche Stokes of Mansfield; three sisters, Earlene, Charlene and Joyce Washington, all of Mansfield; mother, Mildred Washington of Mansfield; and a host of nephews, stepsisters, aunts and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, John Thomas Stokes, stepmother, Annie Ruth Stokes, one uncle and two aunts.
Friends may call one hour prior to funeral services Saturday at Community Temple Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Henry Bradley. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wappner Funeral Directors.
