Eugenia "Jeannie" R. Lauinger

Eugenia R. "Jeannie" Lauinger, 72, of Newark went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was born on August 25, 1945 in Morehead, Kentucky to the late Wayne Fairchild and Ida Tackett.

A woman of strong Christian faith, she was a dedicated mother and adored her grandchildren. Her main passion in life was caring for others and she did so as a Hospice Nurse for MedCentral. Jeannie loved reading, daily trips to the library, but most importantly she loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Bethany (Eric) Rutter of Newark; two grandchildren, Greyson and Claire Rutter; and two half sisters, Linda Downs of Circleville, Ohio and Carol Barker of Morehead, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 12 years, Robert Lauinger; brothers, Bill and Johnny Tackett; and her dogs, Daisy, Muffin and Puggy.

The family will observe private services. Jeannie will be laid to rest by her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Midwest Boston Terrier Rescue, PO Box 297 Kent City, Michigan 49330. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the Lauinger family.
