Eunice Ethel Hill, 88, of Mansfield, died November 2, 2014. Born October 3, 1926 in Olive Hill, KY, she was the daughter of Prentice and Nellie (Henderson) Reynolds. Eunice married the love of her life, Eldridge Hill, on August 17, 1945. She retired from Mansfield Plating Company.
Eunice was a faithful member of Faith Chapel for over 55 years and presently attended Belmont Community Church. There was never a conversation without her telling you about the Lord and how wonderful HE had been to her. Attending church and spending time with her family were her most cherished moments. She truly was the matriarch and anchor of her family. Regardless of the holiday, it was never complete until Grandma Hill arrived with her "surprise" bags for the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly. A wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, she will be greatly missed.
Surviving are her children, Carol (Ben) Jones of Russell, KY, Judy Hill Runion of Mansfield, Jim (Kathy) Hill of Irvington, AL, and Pat Hill of Mansfield; grandchildren, Doug (Sampda) Jones, Chris (Lisa) Jones, Anne Jones, Tim Runion, Kevin Runion, Shannon (Ted) Brown, and Stacee (James) Collier; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Courtney, and Clay Runion, Madaline, Zach, Alex, and Alyssa Jones, Savantha Floyd, and Cameron, Sierra, and Jake Hill; sisters, Alma Wells, Alberta Littleton, and Linda (Charlie) PiSimer; brothers, Jim (Judy) Reynolds, Fred Reynolds, and Mike Reynolds; sisters-in-law, Ethel Reynolds, Donna Marie Brown, and Oneita Castleberry; brothers-in-law, Bud Gay, Harry (Georgia) Gay, Gerald (Jeri) Gay, and Ted Akers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband Eldridge Hill, who passed away June 5, 1995, Eunice was preceded in death by her sisters and sisters-in-law, Garnett (Curry) Callahan, Wilma Akers, Helen Reynolds, and Lillie Mae Pye; and brothers and brothers-in-law, Elwood (Irene) Reynolds, Charles Reynolds, and John Wells.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 11 a.m., conducted by Pastor Perry Bradford and Pastor Gary Lambert. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to The Belmont Community Church Building Fund.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Cliff Crose who has been a dear friend and neighbor to Eunice after the passing of her husband 19 years ago. We don't know what we would have done without you.
