Evelyn Berger

Evelyn J. Venear Berger, age 67, of Lucas, died Sunday, March 20, 2005, at home following an extended illness. Mrs. Berger was born March 20, 1938, in Portsmouth, Ohio living in the Lucas area most of her life. She retired from Newhope School.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, John H. Berger of Lucas; Robert R. SR. & Reva Berger of Ashland, Ohio, & William H. & Fran Berger of Perrysville, Ohio; three daughters & sons-in-law, Marilyn J. Berger & Robert Haws Jr. of Columbus, Ohio, JoAnn L. Berger & Tim Boyer of Pleasant Hill, Ohio & Sharon M. & Larry Brubaker of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Linda & Adam Vetter, Laura Brubaker, Alleta Star Curwin, Katie Curwin, John Henry Bishop, Cody Berger, Bob Berger Jr. & Angela Berger; a great-grandson, John W. Vetter; a sister & brother-in-law, Delores & Gene Harris of Mansfield; an uncle, Willard Piatt of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Berger Jr.; her parents, Henry & Helen Angel Venear; & a granddaughter, Tabitha Runyan.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
