
Evelyn Hawthorne Butler, 66, of 317 Altamont Ave. died November 22, 1999 in Andalusia, Alabama unexpectedly. Mrs. Butler was born April 28, 1933 in Andalusia, Alabama residing in the Mansfield area most of her life. She retired from Flexible and was a member of Maddox Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ. Ms. Butler was on the Deaconess Board at the Church and on the Usher Board.
Surviving are four sons and one daughter-in-law, Benjamin Jerry Tyler of Mansfield; Donald Tyler of Mansfield; Stanley & Dorothy Hawthorne of Mansfield; and Andrew Hawthorne of Mansfield; one daughter, Angela Mosier of Mansfield; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Willie James & Helen Johnson of Mansfield; and Danial & Irene Johnson of Mansfield; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Cleaster & Eddie Rayner of Mansfield; Minnie Canada of Mansfield; Linda & Willie Bailey of Mansfield; and Rosie Anne Feagin; her step-mother, Alma Johnson; two special cousins, Elder Aaron Williams and Ben Williams Sr.; numerous nieces & nephews; and two special friends, Barbara Simms and Doris Noris. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eaf & Rosia Feagin Johnson; one brother, Freenie Ray Johnson; two sisters, Sarah Johnson and Mary Lucas and one son, Larry Tyler.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Friday November 26, 1999 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 27, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maddox Memorial Temple Church of God in Christ on Walker Lake Road conducted by Elder Aaron Williams. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
