Evelyn Gassaway

Evelyn (Mong) Gassaway, 69, of Ontario, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her friends and family on August 10, 2016 at Riverside Hospital. She was born in Carter County, Kentucky on December 2, 1946 to Paul and Pauline (Burton) Ingold.

Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and cats. She enjoyed doing crafts, going to garage sales, and gardening. Evelyn will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her parents, Paul and Pauline Ingold; daughter, Misty (Michele Preuss) Coleman of Mansfield and their son, Derek Coleman of Columbus; son, Raymond T. (Stacey) Mong of Lexington and their children, Ronnie Mong, Kelan Mong, Kylee Mong and Kinley Mong all of Mansfield; grandson, Curtis Brannan of Columbus; two step daughters, Lori (Richard) Kryspin of Columbus and Julie Mong of Columbus.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Gassaway; daughter, Mendy Mong and her son, Joshua Mong; and step daughter Melissa Hedrick.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd, Ontario. The service will be conducted by Pastor Bill Crank. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
