

Floyd "Red" Edward Skelton, 75, of Ontario, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born December 21, 1942 in Erin, Tennessee, he was the son of Finnis and Donnie (Thomas) Skelton.
Red retired from Lear Corporation following 20 plus years of service. He was a handy guy and enjoyed doing odd construction jobs for others. He enjoyed being outdoors whether it was working in the yard, fishing or hunting. Red was always a jokester who loved being around his wife and family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby (Wells) Skelton; a daughter, Teka (Kenneth) McDaniel of Columbus; five sons, Gary Skelton of Mansfield, Randall Skelton of Elyria, Ohio, Ronald (Amber) Skelton of Ontario, Ohio, Shannon Wells of Lorain, Ohio and Carlos (Shannon) Bowers of Nashville, Tennessee; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Skelton; three sisters, Jean Alice Skelton, Bessie (Mike) Dunlap and Clare Ann Williams all of Tennessee; a brother-in-law, Hurley of Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews and other dear relatives; and his best friend, Tyrone Griffin of Sandusky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Skelton; a brother, Fred Skelton; two sisters, Sarah and Robbi Jo; and a brother-in-law, David.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday.
