
Frances D. Bates, 76 of Mansfield, died Saturday June, 5, 2004 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Frances was born February 1, 1928 in Clintwood, VA to Earl and Rosa Horne Dotson, and has lived in Mansfield since 1956. She was a very active member of the Country Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, and was retired from Diamond View Residential Care Facility in Mansfield.
Surviving is her husband Daniel Bates, of Mansfield; one son and daughter-in-law; David and Deborah Bates of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law; Jane and Steve Schwartz of Mansfield; six grandchildren; Ginger and her husband James Baldinger of Mansfield, April and her husband Ben Hamilton of Mansfield, Michael Erwin of Columbus, Ohio, Matt Bates of Mansfield, Melissa and her husband Scott Gibbs of Mansfield, and Megan Schwartz of Mansfield; five great grandchildren; Austin, Tyler, Alex, Hannah, and Mason; a brother; Henry Dotson of Mansfield; and one sister Mary Bellamy of Kingsport, TN. Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her parents, a son; Daniel Earl Bates; and two brothers Eugene and Emory Dotson.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Tuesday June 8, 2004 from 2-4PM and 7-9 PM. Services will take place Wednesday June 9, 2004 at 10:30AM at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Dave Bates. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
