
Frank 'Bud' Baumberger, 93, of Maplewood Farm in Lucas, died Monday, July 26, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born September 16, 1916 in Mansfield, he was the son of Frank and Alvina Sprunger Baumberger. He attended Ohio State University studying horticulture. On December 25, 1939, he married Elizabeth Palmer at Maplewood Farm in Lucas. Frank spent his life farming and making each endeavor better than when he acquired it. He especially loved his black raspberries and continued to produce them until his time of death. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Mansfield. Frank loved to tell stories to his children and grandchildren. Especially the story of Tubby and Slim. He loved traveling, camping, canoeing, and hiking.
He is survived by his children, Lynn Jacoby of Deland, Fl, Terry Helen Baumberger of Columbus, Barbara Warns of Lucas, and Tom Sheryl Baumberger of Lucas; grandchildren, Rene Karl Lotchspeich of Winter Park, FL, Michael Tracy Baumberger of Chicago, IL, Kirsten Baumberger of Columbus, Laura Warns of Mansfield, Tammy James Reed of Lucas, Trisha Jay Myers of Grayslake, IL, Sean Liz O'Sullivan of Canton, GA, Steven O'Sullivan of Chandler, AZ, Amy Brown of Norman, OK, and Cole Brown of Blackwell, OK; 13 great grandchildren; half sisters, Violet Bullock and Alice Mae Wilison; sisters-in-law, Margaret 'Peggy' Baumberger and Clarissa McQuade; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth, siblings, Arthur Baumberger, Catherine Van Valkinberg, Dorothy Seifert, and Viola Crandall; and half siblings, Ralph Baumberger, Alvin Baumberger, and Clifford Baumberger.
A memorial service will be held Monday, August 2, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Gary Miller. Friends may call from 5:00-7:00 p.m. before the service on Monday.
