Gary graduated with the Class of 1981 and built a dedicated career at Newman Tech, where he worked as a tow motor operator and later as a shipping supervisor. Committed to lifelong learning, he earned degrees in science from Hiram College and Ashland University.
Gary found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for gardening and took pride in caring for his plants. He was also a devoted animal lover who cherished his horses, cats, and dogs, giving each of them exceptional care and affection.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing sports during his school years and remained an avid fan throughout his life. Whether cheering on his favorite teams or sharing conversations about the game, sports were one of his greatest passions.
Family was always at the center of Gary’s life. He was a steadfast source of love, encouragement, and support for those he cared about. He also expressed his love through cooking, delighting family and friends with meals prepared from the heart.
Gary is survived by his wife, Sherri Kiplinger; children, Krista Kiplinger (Tyler Holman) and Kreig Kiplinger; grandchildren, Mack Holman, Maddoxx Holman, Maddalynn Holman, and Falyn Clever; sister, Molly (Doug) Riley; niece, Morgan Riley; close friend, Jeff Brewer and many cherished family and friends.
He will be remembered for his kindness, strong work ethic, generous spirit, and the love he shared with his family, friends, and beloved animals. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life at a later date. Memorial contributions in Gary’s honor may be made to the Richland County Humane Society.
