

Gary was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He worked 25 years for U-Brand and then 11 years for Rubbermaid. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson whenever possible and watching the Cleveland Browns. Gary love spending time at his cabin, hunting and fishing and went to West Virginia every November to hunt with his nephews.
A friend to everyone and a wonderful Daddy, he most loved being around his family and friends and will be missed by all.
Gary is survived by his daughter, Lana Thompson; three sisters, Aliene (Basil) Stravrakis, Jean Dentz and Wilda Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Thompson and Effie Brennemen; and a brother, Russell Thompson.
A Gathering for family and friends will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland.
The family will announce a ride event in Gary's memory in the Spring.
