Gene Barnes

He was a retired truck driver and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Gene loved his dog, Cody, his fish tank and eating at the Golden Corral.

He is survived by his children, LaVena (Lavelle) Todd, Corrina (David) Moore and Gene W. (Komoneth) Barnes, Jr.; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Carla Jo Barnes and Delvin Barnes; and a special cousin and care giver, Reva Woods.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandmother, Granny Barnes.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Floyd Davis. Full military services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail will follow the service. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home on Monday.
