
George W. Kinkead, Sr., 81, of Mansfield, died early Friday morning, August 31, 2001, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a brief illness. He was born December 8, 1919, in Church Hill, Tennessee to John P. and Elsie Akard Kinkead. He had been an area resident since 1956 and was formerly employed with All Prints Photo Finishing for 30 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, home repair and mechanics. Mr. Kinkead was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #9754 in Church Hill, TN. He was a decorated veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army. While in the service he earned a Purple Heart, AP Theatre Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars, American Theater Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star, GO 23 HQ USAFFE 45 Good Conduct Medal, and the World War II Victory Ribbon.
In addition to his loving wife, Juanita Vineyard Kinkead, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, George W. and Diann Kinkead Jr. of Bellville, OH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Michael Bair and Pam and Dane Donohue all of Mansfield; four grandsons, Christopher, Andrew, and Anthony Bair of Columbus, OH and Dylan Donohue of Mansfield; three granddaughters, Falon Donohue of Mansfield, Misty and Nick Gutman of Indianapolis, IN, and Jodi and Bobby Harvey of Lexington, OH; two sisters, Helen Barham and Fretta Culbertson both of Kingsport, TN; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents, John and Elsie Kinkead, and four brothers, Bill, Tom, Joe, and Paul Kinkead all preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Monday, September 3 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Dr. Wray C. Smith. Military graveside will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
