

George A. Vance III, 43, of Mansfield, died Friday, August 12, 2011. Born August 13, 1967 in Mansfield, he was the son of Ellamay (Murphy) and George Alvin Vance, Jr. George graduated from Madison High School in 1985. He was a union painter with Local 1275. George was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed golfing and Ohio sports team. He loved spending time with his family and was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Nikkie (Woodruff) Vance; daughter, Haley Vance at home; sons, George A. Vance IV and Garret Vance, both at home; brothers, Joseph (Tammy) Vance of Paducah, Kentucky; Michael (Lori) Vance and John (Krissy) Vance, both of Mansfield; sister, Debbra (Richard) Yanders of Mansfield; mother and father-in-law, Marion A. Woodruff, Jr and Billie L. Woodruff; brother-in-law, Marion A. “John” Woodruff and Rory Woodruff; sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Anthony Meckes; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 18, 2011at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Dr. John Freeman. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
