
Geraldine 'Gerry' Taylor Rizzo, 89, of Mansfield, died Friday, November 10, 2006, at Winchester Terrace Nursing Home. Born November 26, 1916, in Butler, she was the daughter of Frank and Daisy Wineland Taylor. She was a 1934 graduate of Butler High School and longtime employee of the H.L. Reed Department Store. Gerry was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church where she was active in the Daughters of Isabella and the Bridge Singles. She was an avid Bridge player, reader and sports fan.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Barbara Rizzo of Mansfield; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Rizzo of Middletown, New Jersey; five grandchildren, Stephen and Sarah Rizzo, Bryan Rizzo, all of Mansfield, Dr. Tanya Rizzo and her husband, Aaron Koenderman of Seattle, Washington, Jason and Kara Rizzo of Columbus and George Rizzo of Middletown; three great-grandchildren, Ethan and Julia Rizzo of Mansfield and Jordan Rizzo of Middletown; and two sisters, Marie Wappner of Mansfield and Jean Halsey of Butler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Rizzo, Sr., son, Joseph Rizzo, Jr., brothers, Kenneth and George Taylor and sisters, Opal Adams, Edna Taylor and Florence Gale.
Friends may call Tuesday, November 14 from 4-6 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with additional calling from 12-1 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.
