

Geraldine "Jeri" June Young , 89, of Mansfield, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. She was born on March 14, 1932 in Mansfield, to the late William Henry and Renatha (Washington) Young.
A native of Mansfield, Jeri was a 1949 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. She moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she worked as a planner and researcher for the Jefferson County Police Department. She also worked as a paralegal for the Louisville Police Department and was also a house manager for the Kentucky Center of Performing Arts. Jeri later moved back to her hometown to be closer with family and friends. She became a faithful member to the First Assembly of God church, served as a chairperson in the Mansfield Police Commissions and on the committee board for Area Agency on Aging. Jeri enjoyed helping others and often volunteered in her community. She was a volunteer for Salvation Army's Dewald Community Center's after school program, and the Rotary Adult Care Center who helped family members of Alzheimer patients. Jeri was a breast cancer survivor and would strongly encourage other breast cancer candidates. She loved line dancing and was an avid reader.
Jeri is survived by her sister, Renatha (Wilbur) Gilmore of Mansfield; brother, Gilbert (Valerie) Ray of Los Angeles, CA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friend, Vickie Luckie; and many other family members, friends and special friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Ray and James Ray; and sister, Betty Young Stillwell.
