

Girolama Sorrenti, 95, of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on February 1, 1922 in Cittanova Calabria, Italy. She was the beloved daughter of Antonino and Teresa Caruso.
Girolama came to the United States from Italy in August of 1971 to reunite with her family. She was a hardworking, generous, giving and dedicated mother and grandmother. Family was of significant value to Girolama. She took great pride in preparing traditional Sunday dinner for her family where she made with love her meatballs and zippoli, her homemade bread. These dinners will always remain a treasured memory for her family. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Leaving behind cherished memories, she is survived by her children, Giuseppe (Frances) Sorrenti, Antonio (Silvana) Sorrenti, Connie (Gerald) Eberst, Arcangelo (Michelle) Sorrenti, and Teresa (Gary) Holzworth; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Salvatore Sorrenti; as well as her brother and sister.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Austin Ammanniti at 10:00am on Monday, December 11, 2017 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 West First Street. Burial will follow at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Girolama Sorrenti.
