

Glenn A. Hisey, 79, of Mansfield, died December 4, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield from recently diagnosed 4th stage renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer). He was born August 20, 1932 in Mansfield. Glenn served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict. He worked for American Electric for many years before retiring from Forrest Screw Machine. After retirement, Glenn worked at Mansfield Warehousing for several years. He enjoyed riding his bike on the bike trail, watching movies, going on volksmarches, rollerblading, coin collecting, and target shooting, for which he had won awards. As a child, Glenn went hiking at Mohican with his father and grandfather, which is a tradition he carried on with his children and granddaughter. A wise and strong man, he was dependable and helpful to anyone in need. Glenn was always considerate and a good provider for his family and was the World’s Best Grampa!
He is survived by his daughters, JoAnne (Jim) Morrison of Big Prairie and Glenda Hisey of Ontario; World’s Best Granddaughter, Lyndsay Cushard; brothers, Donald (Julia) Hisey of Corinth, VT and Robert (Carol) Simms of Mansfield; sister, Alice Simms of Columbus; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and very good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn L. Hisey who died when he was very young, Anna (Wade) Simms, and Richard Simms who raised him; wife, Eula G. (Parson) Hisey; daughter, Margaret Ann Hisey; grandsons, Ronnie Jo Hisey and Christopher David Cushard; granddaughter, Misty Renee Caudell; and brother, Tyrone Wade Hisey who died in the Vietnam War in 1966.
Friends may call Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd., Ontario. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Dave Davenport. Friends may also call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Military graveside services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice.
