Glenn Richard Weigler, a beloved husband, father, veteran, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. He was born on October 17, 1930, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Jacob and Anna Weigler.
A proud graduate of Union High School, Glenn went on to serve his country with honor during the Korean War. His service didn’t end on the battlefield—he continued to honor his fellow veterans as a committed member of the Korean War Veterans Association, Chapter 51. Professionally, Glenn dedicated his career to Ideal Electric, where he retired as the respected supervisor of the Tool and Die Department. After retirement, he obtained his pilots license to fly small aircraft. His craftsmanship extended into his personal life, where he was a skilled woodworker and a generous teacher to his children. Glenn married the love of his life, Grace "Noreen," on September 20, 1953—a relationship that began in middle school and flourished through more than 70 years of shared life and love.
Faith was a cornerstone of Glenn’s life. He was a devoted member of St. John's United Church of Christ and lived out his values in both word and action. He was a long-time volunteer at The Domestic Violence Shelter in Mansfield, where his compassion and commitment earned him a Volunteer of the Year Award. Glenn had a natural ability to make others feel seen and appreciated. He loved people deeply and was deeply loved in return.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Grace “Noreen” Weigler; four children, Greg (Cheryl) Weigler, Gary (Connie) Weigler, Rita (Dave) Coley and Susan (Brian) Lee; grandchildren, Michelle Barr, Heather (Joe) Davis, Lindsay Weigler, Tyler (Kelly) Coley, Tara (Ian) Bateman, Alyssa Coley, Breeann Lee, Chelsea Lee and Austin Lee; ten great-grandchildren; and many cherished family and friends. In addition to his parents, Glenn is preceded in death by his sister, Jacqueline (Dean) Hahn.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield, 98 S. Diamond Street at 11am, officiated by Rev. Dr. Faith Proietti. Family and friends may visit one hour prior, from 10am to 11am. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
