Gus Pinkston, Jr.

Gus Pinkston Jr., 53, of Mansfield, OH died Wednesday, August 30, 2000 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH after a brief illness. He was born July 13, 1947 to Gus Sr. & Cordie Lankston Pinkston in Louise, Mississippi. Mr. Pinkston was an employee with LTV Copperweld Company and attended Trinity Gospel Church.

Mr. Pinkston is survived by his wife, Ruth France Pinkston of Mansfield, OH; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Sylvester Lambert of Jackson, Mississippi and Tyrone & Angela Pinkston of Mansfield, OH; five daughters, Carla France, Ruth France, Melissa Pinkston, Tonya Pinkston and Michelle Pinkston all of Mansfield, OH; thirteen grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Lewis and Ruby Pinkston, James and Marilyn Pinkston all of Mansfield, OH and Joseph and Denise Pinkston of Louise, Mississippi; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Louise Williams and Barbara Pinkston both of Louise, Mississippi and Eloise & Michael Taylor of Mansfield, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jervile D. France; three sisters, Gladys Pinkston, Mary Pinkston, and Betty Pinkston.

Friends may call the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday, September 5, 2000 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held at Trinity Gospel Church of God in Christ located at 168 Buckingham St. on Wednesday, September 6, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Elder Canty Gaddy. Burial will be held at Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Organization.
