
Haley K. Blankenship Pruett Smith, of Fort Myers, Florida died February 7, 2008. She was born August 6, 1928 in Virginia to the late Charley and Frances Blankenship. Haley moved to Ohio at the age of 21 and worked at Therm-O-Disc. She then retired and moved to Florida in 1976. She was a very independent lady, always keeping herself occupied with family, friends and her work. Haley attended First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, Florida. She was a faithful volunteer at Hope Hospice for many years. She was a long- standing member of the American Legion, WOTM Club, and the V.F.W. Haley also was a member of the Share Club of Lee Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by three children, Linda Frank Gonzales of Fort Myers, FL, Larry Aldean Pruett and Roger Pamela Pruett, all of Mansfield; three step-children Robbin Michelle Smith, Diane Hester, all of Mansfield, and Linda LeBeau of Cave Creek, AZ; six grandchildren, Craig Caitlin Pruett, Eric Amanda Pruett, Rita Gonzales, Matthew Marzanne Gonzales, Allison David Miller Pruett, and Laura Thomas Allen; seven great-grandchildren, Tayler, Jeremy, Dylan, Rowan, Ross, Leah, Teagan, and Adrian; one sister, Reaber Vance; and several nieces and nephews. Haley was preceded in death by Elias Smith, her husband of 30 years, and her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Tuesday, February 12, 2008 from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services celebrating the life of Haley will take place on Wednesday, February 13 at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home with Rev. David Root officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
