
Harold B. Schmidt, 48, of Loudonville, died at home, Wednesday, March 26, 2003. Mr. Schmidt was born March 2, 1955 in Mansfield, the son of William E. and Marga J. Schmidt. Harold attended Ontario Schools until 1968 when his family moved to Perrysville. He graduated from Loudonville High School and North Central State College with a degree in Business Management. He was the owner of Loudonville Radio Shack Store. Mr. Schmidt was First Term Councilman the Village of Loudonville, and the chairman of park and building committee, a member of the finance and utility committee. He served on the Zoning Board from 1994 to 1998, from 1994 to 1999 he served on the Board of Public Affairs. He was a member of the Loudonville Theater and Arts Committee, a former member of Loudonville Fireworks Committee, a member of the Eagles in Loudonville. Harold will be remembered for his community caring and loving person he always was by his family and many friends. Harold found relaxation by gardening and working with flowers.
Harold is survived by his mother, Marga J. Schmidt of Perrysville; his brothers, Ed, Bill and Steve of Mansfield; nephews, Brian, Christopher and Matthew Schmidt; niece, Terri Schmidt; his aunt and uncle, Ruth and John Theofield of Silver Spring, MD; his aunt and uncle, Heinz and Anni Grosch of Mansfield; an aunt, Hanna Schmidt of Mansfield; many cousins, and a special friend, Liz Weitthoff.
Friends may call at Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Saturday, March 29, 2003 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Graveside committal services will follow calling hours at Greenlawn Union Cemetery in Perrysville conducted by Pastor Charles Hill of the New Hope Community Church. One of Harold's special interest was to support the Loudonville Theater; the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Loudonville Theater Fund, c/o Farmers Bank in Loudonville, Ohio 44842.
