Harold Strohminger

Harold J. Strohminger, 85, of Mansfield died Friday morning, September 12, 2003 at SCCI Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Strohminger was born May 27, 1918 in Mansfield, Ohio living in the area all of his life. Our devoted husband and father retired from the Gorman Rupp Company and was a member of the Ontario United Methodist Church where he had served as a trustee. He was a member of the 25 year Club of Gorman Rupp and the Ontario Senior Citizens. He served many years on the Gorman Rupp Credit Union Committee. His favorite hobby was woodworking.He is survived by his wife, Ruth Orewiler Strohminger; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dean & Cherrie Strohminger of Mansfield, Doug & Marie Strohminger of Lexington and Dennis & Beth Strohminger of Ontario; 11 grandchildren and spouses, Stephen Strohminger, Gordon & Amy Strohminger, Laura Strohminger, Mike Strohminger, Amy & Mike Kitts, Mark Strohminger, Jill Bender, Jack & Carolyn Bender, Andy Strohminger, Nick Strohminger and Pete Strohminger; and 6 great-grandchildren, Katie, Laura, Mike, Caleb, Will and Catherine. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Ethel Harris Strohminger; and a sister, Lottie Clossen.Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ontario United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. James F. Winkler and Dr. Clair Hess. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
