Harry C. Webb, Jr. passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital after a long illness, surrounded by his family. Harry was born October 2, 1942 in Tiffin, Ohio, to Harry C. Webb, Sr. and Martha Donaldson Webb, who preceded him in death. Harry was a lifelong resident of Mansfield, and was graduated from Madison High School in 1961.
He was retired as a machinist from Gorman Rupp in 2003, after 25 years of service, and had previously worked at the Mansfield Tire & Rubber Company until it closed.
On June 23, 1962, he was married to Barbara Grant, and together they shared nearly 47 years of marriage. He is survived by his two sons, Doug Brenda Webb, of Campbellsburg, Ky, and Donnie Tina Webb of Mansfield, and his daughter, Kristen Mark Shoup of Mansfield. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Diana, Nicole, Jennifer, Breana, DJ, Levi, Stanley, Dustin, Shayna, Hayden & Harrison. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Harry "Jean" Webb, of Tucson, AZ and special friends, Rose & Jimmie Taylor, who were like children to him. He will be very sadly missed by his closest companion, his white Pomeranian, Yogi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Hicks and his sister, Joann Webb.
Harry will be remembered by those who loved him, and knew him best, as someone who was very proud of his family, and loved them very dearly. He was a very hard worker, very dedicated to his family. One thing his kids always knew is that their dad would always be there for them, no matter what. When each of his grandchildren were born, he was one of the first to go to the hospital to see the newest addition to his family. When he was working, he kept a collection of photos of his kids and grandkids on his toolboxes that he liked to show off to his coworkers, which he referred to as his "Rouges Gallery" and he loved to talk to people about his kids and grandkids.
Throughout the years as Harry and Barb raised their kids, they spent a lot of time as a family camping, at Pleasant Hill Lake, and later at Charles Mill Lake, where many happy memories were made. Harry was happiest anytime he was with his family and friends, whether for holidays, camping or boating. Harry was very outgoing, and loved to talk to people, never knowing a stranger. He always liked to know what was going on around him, and was a good storyteller. Harry was always good for a laugh.
In his younger days, Harry was a mechanic, and many people brought their cars for him to fix in his garage. He also was quite a wheeler-dealer and was always looking for vehicles, campers and other items.
