Hazel Crawford

Hazel ''Lil'Ol'' Crawford, age 48, of 301 Superior Avenue, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening September 20, 2000 at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital. She was born July 22, 1952 in Swiftown, Mississippi living here since 1993. Ms. Crawford was the Seafood Supervisor at Meijer's Superstore. She was a member of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ. Ms. Crawford was a very bold and outspoken person, but found the most enjoyment out of life by spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are a son, Harry Birdow of Mansfield; two daughters, Ouida Birdow and Faith Crawford both of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Keitree Shannon, Darneqwa Harris, Keara Birdow, Teara Birdow and A'Shaundreh Crawford; a brother, James Roberts of Chicago; and five sisters, Irene Roberts, Samaria Walls, Sandra Roberts, Lillian Landingham and Caledonia Roberts all of Chicago, Illinois; a host of nieces and nephews and a special and close friend, Willie Edwards and a special nephew, Shawn ''Doggie'' Crawford. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Felicia Crawford.

Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to the funeral service, which will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Rufus Martin. There will be a special soloist for the service Patricia White. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery.
