
Helen Lesser Groh, 94, formerly of 124 Columbia Heights, Brooklyn, New York, died Thursday June 23, 2005 at Twin Oaks Care Center after an extended illness. She was born April 26, 1911 in Pierce, Nebraska to George and Margret Lesser. She attended Business College and soon thereafter entered the fulltime ministry engaging in Bible educational work. She later married John Groh and entered the circuit work activity. Along with her husband, they engaged in evangelizing visits to congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses throughout the country. Later, Mrs. Groh along with her husband, were invited to become members of the Bethel family at Watchtower headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. After her husband's death, she moved to the Mansfield area. She has dedicated over 70 years to fulltime ministry activities. She attended the Ontario Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Helen Barbra Groh is survived by one brother, Edward Lesser; one sister, Verna Haggstrom; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1975; her parents; four brothers, Harry, Jacob, George, and David; and three sisters, Amelia, Selma, and Mary.
A community memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday July 3, 2005 at the Ontario Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1745 Walker Lake Rd., Ontario, by Ronald E. Hyde. Burial will be in Wallkill, New York. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ontario Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted with the arrangements.
