
Helen Louise Arnett Ramey, 76, of Mansfield, died June 9, 2006. She went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning after a lingering illness. Helen was born October 27, 1929, in Wooster to the late James and Emza Alkire Arnett and had lived in Mansfield for the past 57 years. She was an avid homemaker who loved camping and traveling. At home, she loved to crochet. In her younger years, Helen was a clerk and then a waitress for many years. She was a member of the Mansfield Free Will Baptist Church. She met and married her husband, Norman Ramey in 1948.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Dave Sanford of Garland, Tex., Deborah and Dave Bates, and Patricia and Don Holbrook, all of Mansfield; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Ellen Ramey of Mansfield; two sisters, Jean Burnett and Beulah Bontrager, both of Wooster; thirteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Retha Lacy of Wooster, great-grandson, Alexander David Sanford of Garland, Texas and her lifelong friend and sister-in-law, Dorothy Walker Ramey.
Friends may call Monday, June 12, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Mark Bailey and Rev. Fred Dutton. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mansfield Free Will Baptist Church for the Hendrickson Building Fund.
