Helen Swank

Helen Downs Swank, age 74, of Mansfield, Ohio died Wednesday morning April 9, 2008 at Twin Oaks Care Center from complications following a recent stroke. Mrs. Swank was born February 26, 1934 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio moving to the Mansfield area in 1975. She retired from Mansfield Service Merchandise. Mrs. Swank attended Community Baptist Bible Church in Mansfield.

Surviving are her husband, Dwight Swank whom she married September 30, 1980; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan & Marti Berger of Ft. Myers, Florida; a step-daughter, Paulette Polly Fanello of Mansfield, Ohio; three grandchildren, Jason Berger of Shelby, Ohio, Brandy Gale of Ft. Myers, Florida, Shane Berger of Iberia, Ohio and a step-grandchild, John Fanello of Mansfield, Ohio; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Don E. Berger; parents, Basil and Mabel Downs; two brothers, Dwight & Donny Downs; and a sister, Waneta Downs.

There will be no services or calling hours observed. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to assist the family of Mrs. Swank with arrangements.
