

Helen Taylor, 87, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at OhioHealth Shelby Hospital. Born April 26, 1931 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of Gerald and Evelyn (Gaylord) Snook.
Helen grew up in Willard, Ohio and graduated from Willard High School. Shortly after, she married and started a family. Helen was very family oriented and was an amazing mother and grandmother. She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church and loved crosswords, scrabble, playing games on her computer and reading. Helen was very well loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Jackie (Tony) Duncan, Kathy Taylor, Cindy Townley and Gary Taylor; grandchildren, Shelley (Jack) Schmitt, Sabrina Taylor, Zachary (Brandy) Taylor, Aaron (Christie) Duncan, Natalie (Brandon) Stevens, Sean Duncan, Jack Taylor, Nate Taylor, Josh (Allegra) Taylor, Brooke Corbo, Jacob Townley and Lauren Townley; great grandchildren, Jenna, Jess, Lainey, Mia, Tyler, Brynn, Brycen, Leila, Mae, James, Jackson, Liam, Dereck, Jayden and Hayden; and a great great grandson, Jaxon. Helen is also survived by her siblings who referred to her as "The War Lord", brothers, Stu (Darlene), Butch (Diane), Don (Gloria), and Jim; sisters, Geraldine, Sharon (LeRoy) and Sheila (Bob); sister-in-law, Bonnie Taylor; and special friends, Helen Rinker, Theresa Prendergast and Clara Zara.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Taylor; a son, Steven Taylor; her brothers, Robert, Rich, and Mike; and her sisters, Eleanor, Donna, Joyce and Ruth.
Friends may gather from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at the Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Avenue West, Ontario, Ohio 44906. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the church where an additional hour of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Ontario Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ontario United Methodist Church.
