Helen Ward

Helen Laura Schwab Ward, 77, of 200 Oxford Rd, Lexington died Thursday, July 14, 2000 at Colonial Manor after an extended illness. She was born June 16, 1923 to Christian & Olive Harris Schwab in Mansfield, living in the area most of her life. Mrs. Ward attended St. John's Lutheran Church in Perrysville, OH and retired from Essex Wire after 31 years. She was a loving mother who enjoyed flowers, to crochet, and avidly read her Bible everyday.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandy Louise Boyd of Lexington, OH; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carl Jr. & Barb Ward of Bellville, OH and Burton & Mary Ward of Macon, GA; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Benjaman Schwab of CA; two half-sisters, Lois Walters of CA and Dorothy Schuck of Mansfield, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Ward Sr.; one daughter; Betty Ward; two sisters, Esther Sellers and Julia Ward; two half-sisters, Catherine Ackerman and Freda Keonig; and a half-brother, Floyd Simmers.

Friends may call the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Monday, July 17, 2000 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Brian Phillips. Burial will be held at Little Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Association.
