
Helen A. Welch, 89, of Lexington, died Monday, December 12, 2005 at Winchester Terrace following an extended illness. She was born December 7, 1916 in Akron, the daughter of Joseph and Phillipine Dapper Distl. She was a member of the Lexington Congregational Church and was a homemaker. She attended Mansfield Senior High, loved to draw and loved her family.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Sue Welch of Lexington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Bob Secrist of Perrysville, Barbara and Tom Metz of Cygnet and Betsy and Michael Murphy of Estes Park, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; and one sister, Adaline Brown of Mansfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Walter 'Tom' Welch; brothers Joe, Fred, Dan, Hill, Hank; and sister Ann
Armstrong.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with Pastor David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday, December 16, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lexington Congregational Church.
The family greatly appreciated the care given to Mrs. Welch by the staff at Winchester Terrace.
